Lafayette College has committed to diverting 40% of waste from the landfill by 2030 and 60% by 2035, and to do this, has expanded several recycling streams on campus. Focusing on reduction of waste and circularity of materials throughout campus operations and individual action is key to achieving our goal.
For small e-waste, look for the Big Green Boxes around campus at various departments. For larger items, departments can reach out to Environmental Health and Safety.
If you have clothes, office supplies, furniture or other items that you no longer need, donate them to the thrift shop on campus or during the Green Move Out program at the end of the spring semester.
It is important that specialty wastes from departments are recycled and disposed of properly. Environmental Health and Safety can help make sure department-specific waste gets where it needs to go. Department ink cartridges and K-Cups can also be recycled through programs on campus.
