Lafayette hosts dynamic speakers & creative events. From festivals to conferences, our calendar is always packed to keep our campus informed and impassioned.

Lafayette celebrates Earth Month and Sustainability Month which include an array of educational, entertaining events that bring the campus community together. We host an annual keynote lecture, festival, and ‘LaFarm to Table’ local food dinner. Every year is a little different though – expect new topics and activities, in addition to the traditions.

Green Move In and Green Move Out cap the beginning and end of the school year, ensuring that ‘waste’ is diverted into programs that limit our footprint. Green Move In assists students in making sure cardboard and packaging items get recycled correctly. Green Move Out collects gently-used clothing, furniture, non-perishable foods, and books which are distributed to the local community through the West Ward Sale and back to our students through thrift shops on campus.

Lafayette is a member of the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC), which hosts the LVAIC Campus Sustainability Conference. The most recent was held at Lafayette in February 2018 and included a keynote speaker, a poster session, presentations, and workshops.

We also participate in national events like America Recycles Day and Campus Race to Zero Waste. Environmental clubs host paper-making workshops, film screenings, and more.
