Green Move In helps new students and families recycle tough items easily. School supplies, bedding, and electronics always come in heavy packaging – which can pile up, and used to do so on campus. While unpacking, bring rubbish like plastic, paper, Styrofoam, and cardboard into the PODs placed near residence halls.

In 2019, we recycled over 4.5 tons of cardboard, 50+ pounds of plastic grocery bags, and 30+ pounds of Styrofoam.

Orientation goes by fast. The Office of Sustainability wants to make move-in as easy as possible. Recycling PODS allow students to recycle cardboard, hard Styrofoam, and plastic bags 24/7 from Saturday, August 21st  – Sunday August 29th.

EcoReps will be stationed at the PODS throughout the Green Move In period. Please stop by or email sustainability@lafayette.edu if you have any questions about the process! The four recycling PODS will be located near: Fisher Halls, Watson Courts, March Field and Ruef Hall.
