Participant Badge for CRZW 2023Each spring, Lafayette College participates in Campus Race to Zero Waste, a national competition to reduce waste and increase recycling on college campuses. In 2023, the 8-week challenge runs from January 29-March 25.

Do your part by recycling properly on campus and practicing waste minimization strategies (we highly encourage you to do them all year long!):

  • Learn the recycling rules at Lafayette
  • Use a reusable water bottle at the refill stations around campus instead of plastic bottled water
  • Take food to go from Upper or Marquis through the Reusable Clamshell Program
  • Bring your own mug to Skillman, Gilberts, Wawa and Mojo
  • Bring your own reusable cutlery, straw, and tote bag when you go out
  • Recycle at the Reverse Vending Machine in Farinon
  • Buy in bulk rather than singular, individually packaged items
  • Meet your Eco Rep on your hall and reach out with any questions you might have. Register to become an Eco Rep here!

Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in events on campus focused on waste and recycling, such as Game Day Basketball, the Reverse Vending Machine Competition, and more!
