As a residential campus, Lafayette encourages students to get around campus by walking or biking.
To discourage driving, the College only grants a limited number of parking permits that are restricted to designated areas.
The Lafayette College Area Transportation (LCAT) shuttles have an expansive schedule that connects the main campus with the College’s athletic fields, the downtown Williams Arts Campus, local shopping areas, movie theaters, and the local bus station. The LCAT Special shuttle also provides transportation between campus and the Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA) on designated days. Check out the live online tracking system to see where the LCAT shuttles are right now. You can also access it on your mobile device no matter where you are by clicking the “Shuttle” button on the Lafayette College mobile homepage.
A partnership announced in February 2019 between the College and the Lehigh and Northampton Transit Authority (LANta) provides transportation at no cost to current students, faculty and staff with a valid Lafayette College ID (scanned when boarding). LANta bus service operates 363 days a year and provides reliable and consistent access to the Easton Bus Terminal, with stops along Cattell Street on College Hill as well as the Giant Plaza and Weis Market in Forks Township using Route Number 214. In addition to these routes, members of the Lafayette community may board any LANta bus, making the entire Lehigh Valley accessible.
LANta bus routes can be viewed online and there is a live bus tracker to see where the bus is in real time. LANta, which operates mostly hybrid buses in the Easton area, also has an easy to use app, available for iPhone and Android.
