The Office of Sustainability is currently looking for student environmental peer-educators to serve as interns during the Spring and Fall semesters of 2020.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform weekly environmental education duties and service residence halls
- Outreach to students about sustainability and environmentalism on campus via social media, RA programming, and personal connections
- Work in groups to complete self-designed sustainability projects for the campus
- Coordinate and plan campus-wide initiatives & events (i.e. Earth Week, Campus Sustainability Month, Green Move Out, etc.)
- Meet with EcoRep team once a week for planning purposes and check-in
30% Outreach and Communications, 40% Event Planning and Execution, 30% Projects
Schedule & Compensation:
- EcoRep training January 25th and 26th
- 14 week commitment per semester
- 2 – 5 hours per week on average, $9 per hour
- Flexible work hours
- Weekly meetings will be scheduled during training
Qualifications:
- Public speaking and leadership skills
- Communication skills, social media experience preferred
- Research & interpretive skills to communicate complex environmental issues
- Problem solving skills and creativity
- Enthusiasm and passion for conservation, environmental justice, sustainability, and Lafayette College
- Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior enrolled at Lafayette College
