The Office of Sustainability is currently looking for student environmental peer-educators to serve as interns during the Spring and Fall semesters of 2020.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform weekly environmental education duties and service residence halls
  • Outreach to students about sustainability and environmentalism on campus via social media, RA programming, and personal connections
  • Work in groups to complete self-designed sustainability projects for the campus
  • Coordinate and plan campus-wide initiatives & events (i.e. Earth Week, Campus Sustainability Month, Green Move Out, etc.)
  • Meet with EcoRep team once a week for planning purposes and check-in

30% Outreach and Communications, 40% Event Planning and Execution, 30% Projects

Schedule & Compensation:

  • EcoRep training January 25th and 26th
  • 14 week commitment per semester
  • 2 – 5 hours per week on average, $9 per hour
  • Flexible work hours
  • Weekly meetings will be scheduled during training

Qualifications:

  • Public speaking and leadership skills
  • Communication skills, social media experience preferred
  • Research & interpretive skills to communicate complex environmental issues
  • Problem solving skills and creativity
  • Enthusiasm and passion for conservation, environmental justice, sustainability, and Lafayette College
  • Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior enrolled at Lafayette College
