Program Overview: 

Green Move Out is a campus-wide sustainability and community service effort where students recycle their unused or gently used household items by donating them to over 12 local non-profit organizations. 

Primary Responsibilities:

The Student Coordinators will work with the Office of Sustainability to assist with the day to day operations of Green Move Out. This will involve setting up collection areas, preparing for EcoRep pick-ups and volunteer events, and assisting with logistics and planning. The Student Coordinators will also help to spread the word about Green Move Out, recruit volunteers, connect with non-profit organizations, and respond to questions about Green Move Out.

  • Provide program information to Community Partners and Community Organizations
  • Assist with the setup, organization, and cleanup of donation bins throughout campus
  • Assist with collecting, sorting, and weighing donation materials
  • Facilitate donation collection shifts and answer volunteer questions about procedures and provide direction and assistance as needed
  • Promote Green Move Out and and educate students, faculty, and staff about what can and can’t be donated and how to participate

Program Dates:

Schedule is flexible, but must be available April 27th – May 30th.

Abilities:

  • Must be a certified driver or had a drivers license for at least one year
  • Preference given to local students (or willingness to commute), but all are encouraged to apply

Compensation:

Approximately 30-50 hours during the month of May at $10/hour, with longer shifts occurring May 18-30th
