As the Spring semester begins, we want to look back and remember some of the highlights from the Fall.
August: We started off the year with EcoRep training to help prepare our 13 student leaders for a successful semester.
Our EcoReps then led Green Move In where we recycled over 4 tons of cardboard and 50 lbs. of Styrofoam. Their hard work really paid off with helping over 700 freshmen and their families and they got to enjoy some down time and ice cream after the 3 days of breaking down boxes.
September: Our EcoReps and other student organizations like LEAP and SEES helped reach over 1300 signatures on our Climate Action Petition.
October: We hosted 9 different events during Sustainability Month. Our volunteers were able to remove over 7 trash bags of litter from the banks of the Bushkill River during our Community Clean Up event.
December: Lafayette hosted its second annual RecycleMania game day competition during the Women’s Basketball Game against Albany. We ended the game with a 79% diversion rate and a very exciting win! We are excited for even more sustainability events in 2019!
