On August 24th and 25th, EcoReps and the Office of Sustainability helped the class of 2022 recycle cardboard, paper, plastic bags, and hard Styrofoam.

With over 750+ first-year students and families, ECOreps provided guidance on recycling, answered questions, and helped to break down hundreds of boxes.

Thanks also to the RAs and athletes, who assisted in collecting and bringing recyclables out of the residence halls.

Through these efforts, we filled four PODS with cardboard, stuffed a 2 mini-vans with Styrofoam and packed a Honda Fit full of plastic grocery bags.

Why recycle? The cardboard boxes will be made into new boxes, the foam will be broken down to create more packaging or surf boards, and the grocery bags will be turned into plastic decking material.
